Well, Ellie's Crows is not predictable nor the same old plot line many horse stories share. Ellie has special bonds with her Grandma Betty, her horse Damian and a wild crow named Lolita. When a man causes a major conflict for her at the stable, her three allies help her through it.At times the story was hard to follow especially the strange Healing Light retreat, which I wonder what it had to do with the main story. It could have been left out in my opinion.

This is the second time I've read "Ellie's Crows" by MaryAnn Myers. The characters are so fascinating and the story is so full of rich texture and energy, it is worth reading more than once.
Ellie is a young woman, vibrant and full of life. As she cares for her Grandma Betty, whose life gets portrayed as well, I became fascinated with the relationship these two women had developed. No less intriguing is Ellie's relationship with her horse and, of course, the crows. Reading "Ellie's Crows" I learned a lot about horses and most certainly about crows - surprisingly interesting! Watching Ellie care deeply about everyone in her life, including her best friend and her boyfriend, was a compelling reason to keep turning the pages. I know I will re-read this book again - there is still more to discover about Ellie and her world!
You're going to want two of these books. One to keep, one to give as a gift or maybe loan to a friend. MaryAnn has a gift for intriguing character development, the folks in her books are the folks you want to know and get to know better. MaryAnn Myers is one of my favorite authors, her work never gets old. It's timeless and the type of reading you have to plan for because once you pick up one of her books you don't want to put it down. Ellie's Crows is another one of those books! Buy it! You won't regret it!

Of all MaryAnn Myers books, this one is my favorite. I'm not a horse person, but I was easily able to follow along and understand. Tugs at your heart and will make you cry!
The sensitivity of animals is amazing, not to mention the people THAT SEE/FEEL THIS. The only thing missing is HAVING my own crow to 'light' on my finger if I held it out. Beautiful story.

LOVED this book! I love crows and love the beauty of horses. MaryAnn Myers held my attention as I did not want to put this book down! I really enjoyed feeling like I was sitting right there at the local barn. A Wonderful book! GREAT Author, I have purchased the Maple Dale series and can't wait to read! Thank you MaryAnn Myers for such a GREAT read!
I enjoyed the story over all but found it a little anti climatic, leading up to a some adventure and then falling flat. The main character's boyfriend wasn't overally lovable either and I kept thinking through the pages that somehow he was going to be the "bad guy" and would move out of the story... nope... unfortunately he was there to the end.
