Since that first player interview in December 2011, Jayne Hansen has traveled countless miles, watched dozens of minor league games in person, conducted almost 200 interviews with Astros minor league and major league players, coaches, managers, front office staff and others, taken thousands of photographs and has otherwise immersed herself in the Astros minor league system. The depth of her knowledge can be found in the "2015 Houston Farm System Handbook," a reference work that includes profiles on 257 players in the Astros system.
Ms. Hansen gives the reader a basic overview of virtually every player in the Houston Astros minor league system, along with more extensive profiles on dozens of players, drawing on the vast amount of information that she has collected on them. Basic pitcher and hitter statistics are included, plus some additional statistical information not normally included for the minor leagues on various reference sites, as well as links to available interviews and video. The author also shares dozens of original high quality player photos with the reader. She also shares a sometimes quirky sense of humor as she strives to deliver the information in a somewhat entertaining fashion.

If you like the Astros, you will love this book. This tells you everything you need to know about the future of the Astros. No more googling trying to learn about the players. This is the only book you will need with insights on the players in the farm system. Excellent, a must have!
Jayne's passion and dedication for baseball and especially the Houston minor league system have overflowed, literally, into this book. A must have for any minor league baseball nerd. Having all this searchable info at my fingertips and in one place is about as wonderful as pancakes in bed on a Saturday morning.
As an Australian Family "Whattheheckboby" has been brilliant as we are able to keep up with the news of the Minors, which our Son is currently in and about to start his 2nd year of pro ball......the book is delightful and interestingly full of facts which are very current and some humour which is very nice. Keep it up Jayne we love the book and the blog of what is happening in the minors.....

I'm a Season Ticket Holder for an Astros' minor league team and follow the players & team very closely, however, NO ONE does as good a job as Jayne! The amount of information and insight in this book is incredible. If you're an Astros fan, you need this book. if you follow an Astros' minor league team, you need this book. If you happen to follow a different team and wish to bone up on the up and coming players of the soon to be perennial powerhouse Houston Astros, you need this book. Simply put, if you're a baseball fan, YOU NEED THIS BOOK!

So excited about this book. The BA Prospect Handbook is great, but it only covers about 30 prospects (and these are all guys any semi-serious fan already knows about). But stats, info, and insight about 257 Astros prospects?! Wow. I think this book is a must have for any true diehard Astros fan. I've just started to dig into this, but already impressed by the stats and insight this book provides. Oh, and did I mention it has photos, videos, and links to even MORE info? For the price of a hot dog and coke at a ball game (maybe less) you can have this awesome resource at your fingertips.
